UV islands / UV Shell / UV cluster

When you unwrap a model, you usually ‘break it up’ in smaller pieces (unwrap modifier). theses unwrapped pieces are UV shells (or islands)

These are ‘chuncks’ of the 3Dmodel, broken up in smaller pieces just for texturing.
